The Clinical Group Appoints Chris Gillis Principal of New York City Team

    Introduction

The Clinical Group, a medical real estate advisory and clinical growth platform, has appointed Chris Gillis as a Principal of its New York City team, expanding its investment sales, brokerage and development capabilities across the metropolitan area.

Gillis brings more than a decade of commercial real estate experience and a transaction history exceeding $600 million in closed sales. His appointment strengthens The Clinical Group’s ability to advise healthcare providers, property owners, developers and investors across Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn and Long Island.

The addition comes as The Clinical Group continues developing its integrated approach to medical real estate, combining property advisory, investment sales, project management, development and clinical growth services.

“Chris adds meaningful investment sales, brokerage, and new development depth to our New York City platform at a time when healthcare providers and real estate stakeholders are seeking more specialized guidance,” said Jonathan Marks, Founder, CEO and Managing Member of The Clinical Group.

Marks said Gillis’s experience across healthcare-related properties, investment sales and development transactions will support the firm’s ability to advise clients on complex real estate decisions.

Before joining The Clinical Group, Gillis worked as an investment sales broker at Serhant, where he advised clients on commercial real estate transactions throughout New York.

His assignments included the sale of Greenwich House, a transaction involving a property that had been under the same ownership for 120 years.

Gillis also gained broader visibility in the New York real estate market through appearances on Netflix’s Owning Manhattan, which follows the city’s luxury and commercial real estate industry.

Earlier in his career, Gillis served as a Director at Ackman-Ziff, where he provided investment sales, capital markets and transaction advisory services to clients across the greater New York metropolitan area.

During his tenure, he worked on commercial property portfolios and development transactions, gaining experience in real estate valuation, deal structuring and capital markets.

His background includes advising property owners and investors on transactions involving different asset classes, providing experience relevant to the specialized requirements of medical and healthcare-related properties.

At The Clinical Group, Gillis will focus on expanding the firm’s New York City presence and supporting transactions involving medical offices, healthcare facilities and other clinical real estate assets.

His responsibilities will complement the firm’s existing services for physicians, medical groups, hospitals, landlords, developers and institutional investors.

“The Clinical Group has built a fully-integrated platform for medical real estate advisory, investment sales, project management, development, and clinical growth services,” Gillis said.

“I am excited to help expand that program in New York City and deliver specialized real estate solutions for physicians, healthcare groups, owners, developers, and investors.”

The Clinical Group operates through a network of affiliated businesses providing services across the medical real estate lifecycle.

Its capabilities include practice advisory, tenant and landlord representation, property acquisitions and dispositions, portfolio strategy, investment sales, project management and development.

The platform is designed to help healthcare organizations address real estate requirements alongside broader operational and growth objectives.

Unlike traditional commercial properties, medical facilities often require specialized infrastructure, regulatory considerations and layouts designed around clinical workflows.

Healthcare providers evaluating new locations or expansions must consider factors such as patient accessibility, facility configuration, capital requirements and the long-term suitability of a property for medical use.

These requirements create demand for real estate advisors with experience in both commercial transactions and healthcare-specific property needs.

For owners and investors, medical real estate presents a distinct set of considerations involving tenant requirements, property improvements, leasing structures and potential redevelopment opportunities.

The Clinical Group’s integrated model is intended to address those needs by combining transaction services with development and operational advisory capabilities.

Gillis’s appointment adds investment sales expertise to that platform, particularly in New York City, where healthcare providers and property stakeholders operate within a competitive and complex real estate environment.

With offices in Manhattan, Long Island and Hackensack, New Jersey, The Clinical Group serves clients across the New York metropolitan region.

The firm’s geographic presence allows it to advise healthcare organizations evaluating locations in multiple markets while coordinating real estate decisions with broader clinical expansion strategies.

For Gillis, the new role provides an opportunity to apply his commercial investment sales and development experience within a platform focused specifically on healthcare properties.

For The Clinical Group, the appointment represents an expansion of its New York City leadership and transaction capabilities as it seeks to strengthen relationships with medical practices, healthcare operators, developers and real estate investors.

The addition reinforces the firm’s strategy of combining specialized medical real estate expertise with investment sales and development services to support healthcare-related transactions throughout the region.
